SONG OF THE YEAR: Love is Blind
AMERICAN ROOTS SONG: Forever Blue
AMERICANA PERFORMANCE: Shine On
ROCK ALBUM: Forever Blue
This 12 track album is a unique sounding mix of blues/soul and story-telling through the lyrics of Terry Slesser with music by Mark Taylor, Terry Wilson, and Mond Cowie; it features an international who's who of friends. Forever Blue includes members of the original Back Street Crawler Band, the band that featured the iconic British blues guitar legend Paul Kossoff: Terry Slesser, Terry Wilson, and Tony Braunagel (GRAMMY-winning drummer for Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me”). Along with Mark Taylor (main co-writer of this album and touring keysman for Simple Minds and Elton John), also appearing are: Guitarist W.G. Snuffy Walden, who scored numerous TV programs including “The Wonder Years” and “West Wing”; Guitarist Geoff Whitehorn, former member of Crawler and Procol Harum; Guitarist John Buckton; and Guitarist Steve Williams. Last but not least, a cameo “sample” appearance from former Crawler and The Who keyboardist John Rabbit Bundrick and background vocals by Teresa James (Rhythm Tramps). Forever Blue has been 50 years in the making and slowly evolved into this reunion album of Yanks and Brits!
